A character with this power can exert their will to disrupt probabilities so that unlikely (but not impossible) events occur. This can include the shorting out of mechanical equipment, spontaneous combustion of flammable objects, the disruption of energy fields and transmissions, the evacuation of air from a given volume, etc.
To use Probability Control, the player must describe in detail the desired effect, allowing the GM to adjust the OV/RV by Columns if desired. The player must make an action check using their APs of power as the AV/EV, while the OV/RV is equal to the target's WILL/MIND. If the target is an inanimate object then the OV/RV is BODY/BODY. Against unnatural
materials or energies, such as complex alloys or force fields, the character receives a -1 CS when making the check. Positive RAPs indicate that the Player's desired effect has occurred.
Example Scarlet Witch is confronting a bank robber. The robber threatens to shoot her with his Uzi. Wanda's player asks the GM "What are the chances that his gun jams?" and then proceeds to roll. The AV/EV for this attempt is 14 (Wanda's APs of Probability Manipulation), while the OV/RV is the bank robber's WILL/MIND (in this case an Experienced Thug from Batman RPG Page 152 3/3). The GM determines that Uzi's are weapons that rarely jam, so adjusts the OV/RV by One column, making Wanda's target # 4. Wanda's player rolls a 7 and a 4 for a total of 11, granting her one Column Shift. the thug's gun jams.[/font]
This is a much more potent version of Dumb Luck, and therefore is more expensive.
