IRON MAN MODEL XXXVII Stark Enhancile MK X a.k.a. Bleeding Edge Armor: Deemed as "bleeding edge," this armor was created as Tony Stark essentially reinvented himself and the armor. Being called an upgrade to Extremis by Mr. Fantastic, Tony Stark corrected this comment by saying, "Nah - this is what comes next." It was the first armor powered entirely by repulsor technology via Stark's new device, the R.T. node. Its powers and abilities are:- Ability Enhancement The armor increases the reaction time and strength of the wearer [Dex: 10, Str: 17]
- Anti-Theft Device Attempts to copy or dismantle the circuitry causes the armor to detonate in two phases with a blast radius of 40' [Thief (Security Systems): 13, Bomb: 17, Radius: 2 APs]
- Body Armor: The armor is made up of Nano-Machines that can now be commanded to turn into any type of structure upon Stark's skin. For example, the Nano-machines can turn into clothes, other armors, or even different beings completely, by having the Nano-machines change their properties into whatever Stark wants them to be. It can also dissociate to transform into the Iron Man armor whenever Stark wishes. [Body: 11, Cold Immunity: 5, Flame Immunity: 5, Regeneration: 10]
- Camouflage Mode This mode allows Iron Man to blend into his surroundings [Invisibility: 10]
- Electronic Counter Measures The armor is coated in a metastasized paint with a precise thickness to destructively interfere with RADAR band microwaves. [Thief (Stealth): 13; Limitation: only effective against RADAR & SONAR]
- Electromagnetic Pulse: The armor is capable of generating an AMP which shuts down all electrical devices (and all but Iron Man's life support and sensors) in a fifty-yard radius for six minutes. [Mind Blast: 10; Area Effect; Limitation: affects electronics only, 4 AP radius]
- Flight A combination of electric-powered turbines located in the boots and repulsor technology allow Iron Man to fly at a maximum speed of Mach 8 [Flight: 12]
- Defensive Shields Tony's most recent armor is protected by an energy draining shield, as well as a personal deflector shield. The armor;s surface can generate an electrical charge to dispel attackers [Energy Absorption: 7, Force Field: 3; Limitations: Always on, Protects user only, Lightning (no range): 7]
- Life Support The armor's air supply lasts more than an one hour and can be sealed for travel through low oxygen, underwater, or outer space environments [Sealed Systems: 10, Water Freedom: 9]
- Magnetism Iron Man's armor can generate magnetic fields. He is limited to simply moving objects around, as opposed to say reshaping or other subtle manipulation. [Magnetic Control: 9; Limitation: general movement only]
- Modular Weaponry The neurokinetic user-controlled morphologic nanoparticle bundles that form the suit reside in Stark's body, and form a fibrous wet-web of iron and platinum, that can be commanded to form any type of structure upon Stark's skin, from weaponry to clothing [Chameleon: 13, Omni-Arm: 12] Bonuses: Omni-Arm can be used to mimic technological weaponry
- Plasma Bolts The armor is capable of firing plasma discharges that build intensity as they travel through the atmosphere collecting static charges. These "torpedoes" have a range of 200 yards and are capable of doing more damage the further away the target is. For example, if the target were only 1 AP distance from Iron Man, the Pulse Bolt would have an EV of 6 APs. These torpedoes gain 2 APs to the EV for every AP of distance traveled up to the maximum of 16 APs at a distance of 6 APs. However, the plasma travels more slowly than Iron Man's beam weapons. Characters wishing to Dodge the plasma gain a + 1CS to their OV if they decide to dodge. [Energy Blast: 14; Plasma, Range: 6 APs receive +1CS to OV if dodging.]
- Protected Senses The armor contains ear-protectors to baffle incoming noise of greater than 70 decibels. Similarly, blinding lights automatically trigger polarized lenses in Iron Man's eye slots, which offer protection against such flares. However, a blinding attack can possibly affect Iron Man before his armor's computers can react. The armor must make a Power Check AV/EV against the Dexterity OV/RV of the opponent to successfully protect Iron Man's eyes. Iron Man can manually trigger the lenses without computer assistance if he expects to be attacked with a bright light, but doing so penalizes him -1 CS for Perception checks requiring sight. [Shade: 8; Bonus: Usable against sonic attacks as well; Limitation: Dice Action]
- Repulsors: Iron Man's primary weapons are these particle beam emission units; microscopic matter projected at the speed of light current Iron Man armor has repulsors with a range of 100 yards. [Attraction/Repulsion: 13; Repulsion only, Range: 5 APs]
- Sensors The Iron Man armor contains various sensors including Infra-vision, Radar, Sonar, " Life" Detectors, and Electrical power Detectors (showing Iron Man power-lines in a building's walls, for example,) built, into his helmet. He can also tune in to all radio bands and frequencies, and transmit on private wavelengths, CB, and Ham radio channels. Iron Man's microcomputers have the ability to provide translations for incoming messages in many of the Earth's more popular languages. The suit's repulsors, which are located around the knuckles, chest, back and legs of the armor, as well as in the traditional palms, now function also as cameras, or "eyeballs," which afford Stark a 360-degree panoramic view around himself. [Comprehend Languages (terran): 13, Detect (power lines): 6, Full Vision: 8, Life Sense (life in general): 4, Microscopic Vision: 13, Radar Sense: 4, Radio Communication (scrambled): 18, Sonar: 5, Telescopic Vision: 7]
- Unibeam The armor's chest beam (range of 4 APs for all effects) can produce an incredible heat or laser beam, a floodlight, a tractor beam, and can project holographic illusions of Iron Man [Heat Vision: 12, Flash: 6, Telekinesis: 12, Illusion: 8; Limitation: only images of Iron Man]
- Targeting Computer The armor has integrated the Stark R.F.S. Mark VII Targeting Computer used for offensive tactics (i.e. repulsors, pulse bolts), it also possesses the defensive capacity to lock-in and track incoming targets (up to sixty at one time). All information is relayed to an L.E.D. readout in the helmet's visor [Acrobatics (Dodging): 5, Military Science (Cartography, Danger Recognition, Tracking): 10, Weaponry (Exotic): 10; Limitation: Internal armor weapons only]
- Voice Modulator The armor has a built-in voice scrambler to disguise the wearer's voice [Artist (Actor): 13]
ROLE-PLAYING NOTES
Tony Stark is a dichotomy. On the one hand, he is a caring humanitarian, a brave and philanthropic soul who works tirelessly for a better world, and on the other, he is a womanizer and recovering alcoholic who tries to bury his insecurities and fears in an endless parade of meaningless relationships or at the bottom of a bottle. Stark’s towering intellect carries with it a degree of arrogance, and Stark sometimes has trouble grasping why people don’t simply see the world as he does. This makes him self-assured in his conclusions but also hardheaded and more than a bit self-righteous.
